EIFS Moisture Meters

General Information 

EIFS (Exterior Insulated Finishing Systems) is a multi layer sheathing that is attached to the exterior of a home.  EIFS are superior in energy efficiency and have great design flexibility. Even though EIFS provides great features can develop problems such as moisture buildups, mold, leakage.  

If not sealed properly moisture can leak into the EIFS where seams and seals fail, where moisture migrates from inside the building and where punched openings are present such as doors, windows etc.  When moisture gets into this it is very hard to dry out because of the low vapor permeability and with high leakage potential it can create mold and structural damage. With the use a moisture meter you can instantly find out if moisture builds up and stop potential problems that can create a big whole in your wallet.
